Dog Skin Problems

Does your dog have dry flaky skin or hot spots or skin rashes? He could be allergic to something in the environment or his food. Be sure to feed a premium dog food diet rich in natural ingredients.

If your dog does break out in a rash with small red bumps or gets raw cracked paws from chewing, there are some things you can do to help.

First you must remove the dog from the allergens. These could be environmental, like grasses or seasonal pollens. If so, keep him indoors with a hepa air filtration system if possible. Second, change his diet, try a new food brand with a different protein source and ingredients he's not accustomed to. Dogs can develop food allergies from too much exposure to the same ingredients. Variety is good.
