Don'ts - don't reward barking by petting or telling them you're home and they're ok - your dog does not understand this except as positive reinforcement. Don't talk in a high cheery voice.

Do's - have a simple command like "Quiet" or "No" that you use every time. Only reward the quiet good no barking behavior.
